The Adventures of Cheyenne and Emma

Rockit J. Cramer

Rockit J. Cramer

In loving memory of our uncle, Rockit J. Cramer (or Matzah as Mom called him) who passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the tender age of 6 months.  Rockit brought love and joy to our Grammy, Grampy and Aunt Siofra while he was here.  He was a goof who gave us all plenty of reasons to laugh.  Cheyenne will certainly miss running laps in the yard with him and sharing her sticks.  And although Emma was not his biggest fan, she will miss his goofy puppy behavior.  He’s at the Rainbow Bridge now with our Uncle Seamus and Uncle Spike who will show him the ropes.

We will miss you, Rockit.  You were and always will be loved.

The Rainbow Bridge

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,

Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.

Where the friends of man and woman do run,

When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,

Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.

On this golden land, they wait and they play,

Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,

For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.

Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,

Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,

Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.

All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,

Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;

Together again, both person and pet.

So they run to each other, these friends from long past,

The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,

Has turned into joy once more in each heart.

They embrace with a love that will last forever,

And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

We’d like to introduce you to our two kitteh friends, Daisy and Trouble.  Please give them a warm welcome.

Trouble is a nice kitteh but she doesn't like Em much.

Daisy and Trouble are the senior members of our house.  Daisy likes to play with Emma but Trouble is more serious and isn’t up for her puppy games.

Mom’s been taking a lot of pictures of us lately so here are a few of our glamour shots!

…when you can roll on a freshly used towel?

I love, love, love towels.  When mom or dad gets out of the shower I like to rub myself on their feet until they put the towel on the floor for me.  Those are my favorite towels.  I don’t really like taking a bath so this does the trick for me.

When they are on the floor on laundry day I like to roll in them and bury myself in the pile.  Laundry day towels aren’t as much fun because they don’t smell like mom and dad but they are still fluffy!

Cheyenne thinks I’m crazy…but I’m not sure if that’s just because of the towels.

Does anyone else like to roll in towels?  Or maybe you like to burry yourself in the sheets?  What do you like to do?

I (Emma) got my summer haircut yesterday.  Although, based on the weather around here, I’m not sure it actually is summer.  Here I am before my haircut:

And here I am after my haircut…it really is me, I swear.

Mom lets my hair grow out in the winter and then I get shaved down for the summer.  I go to Pet Spas of America on Loudon Road in Latham.  I’ve been going there since I was a little pup and they are the best!!  In a couple weeks I’ll go back for a bath and brush so that my hair stays  clean and doesn’t get matted as it grows out.  Plus, while I’m there, I get to hang out with the other dogs in doggy daycare!!  It’s awesome!  I’m off to chase Daisy and bother Dad for some treats….ttyl. ❤ Emma

Hi!  We’re Cheyenne and Emma, two awesome dogs from Upstate New York.  Here is a little about us:

Cheyenne is a laid back 3 year old Boxer/Mastiff mix (with maybe some Great Dane) who was rescued from the Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society a few years ago.  She has an obsession with rocks and tries to collect as many as she can in her house.  She also loves stick and swimming.  When she’s not on duty paroling the street in front of the house from her window, she likes to lounge on her couch (most of the time upside-down) or chew a bone.  Cheyenne can be very opinionated and tends to sit back in her chair and give you a look when she doesn’t agree with you.  Most of all, she loves to cuddle.

Emma is a hyperactive 3 year old Maltese/Apricot Poodle mix.  Weighing in at 11 pounds she may be small but she’s got a lot of pip.  She loves stuffed toys and chasing Daisy (one of the cats).  She is always giving kisses and isn’t afraid to cuddle.  She’s starting to like the water and swimming but isn’t sure yet.  She’s certainly not the brightest crayon in the box but boy is she lovable.

Thanks for joining us at The Adventures (or Lack of) Cheyenne and Emma.  We’ll post as often as we can (it’s not easy to type with paws and Cheyenne has to check all Emma’s post for spelling errors) about our adventures and news from the dog world.  You can also catch us on twitter!  We hope you enjoy the blog!!
